Everglades Action Day

Since 2012, Floridians celebrate Everglades Day on April 7, in honor of legendary Everglades activist Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ birthday. The state’s support for Everglades Day ensures that the famed ecosystem remains a top priority for elected officials. The Everglades Coalition celebrates Everglades Day by mobilizing to Tallahassee for a Day of Action in the State’s Capitol during the Legislative Session.

During our 2024 Everglades Action Day, we had 40 meetings with a legislator or their staff and dropped off 25 leave-behind packets – we reached a total of 65 offices in just a few short hours!

Stay tuned for more details about our 2025 event.
